Morrissey / An EP Mega Collection

Morrissey

I honestly can't say I'm a huge fan of Morrissey. While I have an undying love for The Smiths (which is partially due to the fact that I was in high school at the height of their popularity), Morrissey has always been hit and miss.

However, I can say that he's had some terrific singles and B-Sides. Below is a huge compilation of many of his EP's and Singles since the breakup of The Smiths.

This came totally unexpected to me: I was just looking for one EP (Suedehead). As I couldn't find it anywhere else, I thought: "Why not check out this Mega Collection?" I didn't expect much from it, I've never considered myself to be a person who likes Morrissey or even the Smiths. And now, I'm spending my Sunday afternoon and evening listening to one Morrissey EP after the other... and I really start liking it. How could that happen?

can't say i'm surprised, there are many songs in this compilation that are absolute crackers, some b-sides a much better than some of his album tracks (The Loop, Get Off The Stage, Hairdresser On Fire, Jack The Ripper, I'd Love To and some of his singles would have vastly improved some albums (My Love Life, Boxers)

too bad Sunny is missing from this massive collection, and i notice a drop off toward his later singles. However, if you don't know Moz that well this is a great slice of his backcatlogue and more interesting than any of his best of/greatest hits compilations

nice one!
